The Magical Island of Hvar

This one Island of Croatia is an injection of fun, aqua sports, nature awe and night life surprises. The high seasons run from May to September every year and the city lives out of these profitable months. The island is then so lively that you sleeping makes you feel you are missing so mucn.

Some of the "must do" activities include going up to the Hvar Fortress, HulaHula Bar for sunset, laying on a pebble beach all day with cocktails, and renting a boat to the neighboring islands or day trip to the Blue Cave.

Up high at the Hvar Fortress you will get the best view of the beautiful Hvar Island. This was definitely one of the best moments in Hvar where you can glimpse over the harbor and its neighboring islands. Up there you can sit and relax at a very nice and cozy lounge style cafe which offers a pretty decent list of beverages and some snacks. The Fortress is accessible by foot and car. I did not see the car route, but the foot route is definitely unique as you get different stunning views each step climbed. Sunset time is magical, so maybe you can get up there at the end of your beach day ;) - tip: if you are not scared of heights, sit on one of the Fortress' higher walls (to the left once you enter the fortress), it will definitely be one of those life wow moments as you watch the sun go down.

At sunset time it seems like the whole island, mostly tourists yes, meet at the HulaHula Bar. It is a fun place to meet people while enjoying a truly stunning sunset - it is a privileged view.

If you are in a group of 2 or more and feel adventurous,  I definitely recommend renting your own, small, boat and go around the smaller islands around Hvar. It is pretty easy to get around and the boat rental companies give you a map and very easy instructions to follow. There's a big variety of boat rental companies, so do some research and info gathering around before you book one that satisfies your standards and prices.

Many companies also offer guided one day trips to the Blue Cave, this is a stunning trip and you must do it! You can get lucky and get a cool guide which will take you to the most amazing remote islands and caves of the Adriatic Sea. This is definitely one of the highest points of Croatia!

At night time, Hvar will offer you taxi boats to the Night Club islands, where as soon as you touch the sand there, you are already on the "dancing floor" - DJ and dancing fun all night long :)

Split. Another Croatian Pearl!

Dioclesian Palace

Dioclesian Palace

Another amazing Croatian city, this one not an island, but borders the Adriatic Sea. Its high season is marked by the summer months from end of May to end of July. The city is then packed with tourists, summer attractions and tours, and music festivals.

If you are able to, stay within the stunning walls of the Dioclesian Palace. There is nothing like it, especially at night when the lights within the city walls take you to completely different experience. It is so pretty. The old town surrounding the palace is a maze full of bars, shops and restaurants/cafes making your the stroll within the old city walls uniquely charming. Definitely sit in one of the street tables for coffee or a nice Mediterranean meal. I was in love!

From Split you can choose from many day tours to neighboring islands - don't miss the Blue Lagoon tour for snorkeling in bluest turquoise water - and mainland parks, like the stunning Plitviče Lakes National Park - a 295-sq.-km forest reserve in central Croatia.

You can book all these tours online, however in the city of Split you will find many tour kiosk to get to know more about the tours, ask all your question and negotiate your price!

The hotels within the Deoclesian Palace tend to be more expensive, but booking in advance can cut you some costs. However, if you're not able to stay within the walls, the city life and hotels surrounding the Palace are also very nice and some of them offer amazing privileged views of the city!
